New divers begin in a shallow-depth orientation lagoon to build confidence and comfort with surface-supplied equipment. Training progresses from approximately 5 metres to deep dives of 50 metres in the sea.
Deep-diving training is conducted from the DSV Pipeline Surveyor using multiple dive stations, a wet bell with launch-and-recovery system, a deck decompression chamber, hot-water equipment and advanced video displays.
